This episode will be all about Webcams and toying with them, software reviewed is Webcam, Hasciicam and Wacaw, for Linux, BSD and MacOSX. All Gnu GPL software.

I. multimedia software : Webcam
webcam captures images from a video4linux device like bttv, annotates
them and and uploads them to a webserver using ftp in a endless loop.

II. multimedia software : (h)asciicam
HasciiCam makes it possible to have live ascii video on the web. It captures video from a tv card and renders it into ascii letters, formatting the output into an html page with a refresh tag, or in a live ascii window, or in a simple text file. It gives the possiblity to anybody that has a bttv card, a unix box and a cheap modem line to show live (h)ascii video can be viewed without any need for extra applications, plugins, java etc.

III. multimedia software : wacaw
A collection of tools and scripts for processing images and video from attached USB and FireWire webcams on Mac OS X. To start things off, there is a command-line tool for capturing webcam images.
