Galera Load Balancer 0.7.5

freshmeat.net - 4 hours 35 min ago
GLB is a user-space TCP load balancer similar to Pen. It lacks most of advanced Pen features, as the aim was to make a user-space TCP proxy which is as fast as possible. It can utilize multiple CPU cores. A list of destinations can be configured at runtime. Destination "draining" is supported. It features weight-based connection balancing (which becomes round-robin if weights are equal).

Release Notes: This is a minor bugfix release. It fixes a destination management bug which sometimes made it impossible to remove a destination or change its weight via the socket control interface, and fixes compilation with the --enable-stats configure option.

crpcut 1.7.2

freshmeat.net - 6 hours 9 min ago
crpcut is the Compartmented Robust Posix C++ Unit Test system. crpcut (pronounced "Crap Cut") runs all test cases in their own process and their own working directory, which makes it perfectly normal to test that asserts do trap, and the test suite continues even in the event of an unexpected SIGSEGV. By using the C++11 features long available in GCC, the tests are extremely easy to write.

Release Notes: This release fixes a minor bug with the NO_CORE_FILE test modifier which occurred on Linux when /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern described piping the core dump to a program rather than saving to a file.

Would a rose by any other name still smell as sweet? Or would it, perhaps, end up sweeter? Namely: Now that we have LibreOffice, do we still need OpenOffice as well? In the wake of Apache OpenOffice's new update, that's been the question du jour down at the Linux blogosphere's Punchy Penguin Cafe. "LibreOffice has demonstrated that it's the right way to do IT/office suites," offered blogger Robert Pogson.
