II. the little extra : mp32ogg
A perl script to convert MP3 files to Ogg Vorbis files, retaining ID3 information, bitrate, and optionally renaming the output files, as well as deleting the originals. Requires: mpg123, oggenc, MP3::Info (perl module), and String::ShellQuote (another perl module)

Mp32ogg unmaintained
Too bad the mp32ogg script is not mantained anymore the problem with this is that it does have some odd bugs on it that maybe could have been fixed if the code was still being worked on.

If some of you coders out there are inclined to help the author a bit, feel free :)
I think that mp3 2 ogg conversion programs are going to be needed more and more.
