Loved episode 045

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoyed episode 45.
I am always looking for Linux distros that do not need a lot of resources.
After hearing about eeeXubuntu, I will give regular Xubuntu on an old laptop
that my wife has. I tried Puppy on it, but had problems with getting it to connect
with the Internet. Damn Small Linux is the only one so far that will work out
of the box on that machine and run withou having much memory.

I wonder if DSL linux would have worked on the eee machine you mentioned.
I currently run Slackware on my main desktop machine.

I pull down the OGG version of your podcast. When I first discovered podcasts,
I only had an IPod, which could not play OGG format. I tried RockBox but it was not
very stable on my version of IPod. I later bought a Cowon iAudio7 which solved the
problem. There may be other listeners in the same boat as I was.

Keep up the great podcast!

DSL Linux on EEE

Hi David,

I was tempted to try DSL but read some posts about network connectivity and rather concentrated on the other distributions that worked more or less out of the box.

Cowon iAudio rocks ! I've got a U3 and I'm very pleased with it (bought it for the OGG)

Thanks for the nice feedback
Dimi.
